Castles and Ruins - Paul Mellon Collection (Yale Center for British Art)
A collection of Welsh castles and ruins from Paul Mellon's collection of 18th and 19th century art works, which he presented to the Yale Center for British Art. These paintings are a selection of the 200 public domain images from this collection which we have shared on our website from the Yale Center of British Art. The paintings are characteristic of the 'Romance period' of painting in this era, and represent works from a variety of artists who came to visit Wales in order to paint landscapes and landmarks.
