Cadoxton
Cadoxton was originally a small village and to home to the local manorial family, under the lordship of Glamorgan. Owning much of the surrounding land, the Andrew family held the manor by the fourteenth century. Until the nineteenth century, Cadoxton was relatively rural and sparsely population. In this way, it was much like Barry, which had became rapidly industrializing and growing town, coming to engulf Cadoxton. As the nineteenth and twentieth centuries progressed, Cadoxton has become increasingly integrated with its neighbour, Barry.
