In this interview there are memories of watching television at a neighbour's house and the enormous change in the broadcasting world and programmes in the last sixty years. He also discusses Aberfan - a disaster which stimulated looking seriously at how to dispose of waste in an acceptable and safe way. The two referendums on Devolution are discussed - the response to the 79 campaign by Kinnock and Abse and how people's opinions were changed by 97 after eighteen years of Conservative government under Margaret Thatcher's leadership. He discusses the differences within Wales - the Welsh-language area, the Valleys Welsh and the Marches Welsh. As he speaks of the Miners' Strike he discusses the effect of the media and also the batle between the miners and the police at Orgreave, the anger, and the march back to work at the end of the strike.
