The interviewee remembers seeing a television at a school friend's house and it was a huge piece of furniture with 'Radiogram' at the bottom. She does not remember watching the Coronation but she is sure that she had seen news reels at the cinema.The interviewee lived in Liverpool at the time that Tryweryn was being drowned and she remembers that the Welsh chapels there had been too respectable and had not voice their opinion. She speaks of her dismay that the Daily Post had sat on the fence. There was nothing about Tryweryn on television in Liverpool, nothing much after moving back to Wales either, thinks that a lack of Welsh-language television was responsible for this. In Caernarfon she heard about the Aberfan disaster, after hearing half the story remembers thinking 'why had children been in a coal mine?' After arriving home understood what had happened after switching on the television. She says she learned more about south Wales from the broadcasts. She feels that S4C has provided a platform for the culture of Wales, and thinks that Owen Edwards had given the launch night the right mood. She says that the television had not conveyed how many policemen were present during the Miners' Strike and that the miners were not always fairly portrayed.
