Description

The Pit Sinkers in the Catherine Shaft in 1909, which was the first of three shafts sunk at the colliery. All shafts were named after Sir William Thomas Lewis`s daughters, Ann and Mary being the other two shafts. On the 08th November 1924, the colliery was abandoned.
