SINKING OF SOUTH POINT
It is now learned (says a Press Association War Special) that the British steamer South Point, 36 men of the crew of which were brought to Lisbon by the British steamer Hallington, was sunk on the 28th ult. about 60 miles off Lundy Island.
Lundy Island is about 25 miles from Ilfracombe, near the mouth of the Bristol Channel. It was originally stated that the South Point was sunk by a submarine 60 miles off the Spanish Coast.
