Image 7: Is she the youngest amongst the large crowd who took to the stage at the Wales and the World ceremony? Geoff Charles thinks so - and so he took a photograph of Eleri Mai Owen, 14 months old, from Melbourne, Australia ---.

Image 9: The only woman to be promoted from the Urdd Ofydd to the White Robe in the Gorsedd y Beirdd at Llandudno was Mrs Enid Watkins Jones (Enid Cynnwyd), Cardiff. Her exceptional contribution to Welsh culture was applauded.
Image 10: At the Gorsedd in Llandudno on Thursday morning th Rev. Jacob Davies, Alltyblaca, Llanybyther was promoted from the Urdd Ofydd to the White Robe, as recognition of his service to Welsh culture in many circles.
Image 11: From the back they appear to be bards of the White Robes. But when these young girls, members of the local young farmers clubs, turned to face the crowd in Llandudno - they were actually "can-can" dancers. There is no truth whatsoever in the speculation that women of the Gorsedd will adopt the same practice for next year.
Image 12: At Llandudno the Wales and the World ceremony had attracted more representatives that ever before at the Eisteddfod - over 500 of them and from twenty seven countries. This here shows part of the provession to the stage.
Image 13: Among the keen Eisteddfod visitors at Llandudno is Policeman Arthur Rowlands, and his family, Caernarfon, with a dog who has been loyal and hard working. The policeman is back at work following the unfortunate event which injured him in the Dyfi valley.
Image 14: A rest for the bards. With a minute or two to spare to wait for the rest of the bards to dress themselves before going on stage for the chairing of the bard ceremony at Llandudno, there was an opportunity for Mr Wilbert Lloyd Roberts and Mr J E William to muse over the 'pryddest' poem that was published in the last edition of the 'Y Cymro'.

Image 16: The three judges in the main reciting competition for the Llwyd o'r Bryn Memorial Award are Miss Cassie Davies, Miss Myra Jones and Mr Alun Ogwen Williams. The award was given to Mr Stuart Jones, Rhoslan.
Image 17: The main award in the reciting with harp accompaniment competition was given to Mr Geraint Lloyd Owen, Sarnau, Bala, and Caernarfon, with Miss Ceinwen Roberts playing the harp.
Image 18: Alun Jenkins, Capel Bangor, near Aberystwyth won the baritone solo under 25 years old, with his accompanist Eirwen James (15 years old), Lledrod, Cardiganshire.
Image 19: The national winner in the solo competition for those under 15 years old was Mair Iona Jones (13 years old), Pandy Tudur, near Llanrwst.
Image 20: Dr R Arthur Hughes is a name which has been held in great respect in Wales for many years, and especially among people who have a shared interest in the work of the Overseas Missionaries. He is the chief doctor in the large hospital in Shillong - and this year he is leading the Wales and the World ceremony at the Eisteddfod.
Image 21: As usual, the majority of the Wales and the World representatives came from the United States.
Image 22: None of your "drinka pinta" for me but a glass of milk from a Welsh black to quench my thirst and to ensure good health, says Mai Williams, Pantyfedwen, Felinfach, at the Milk Marketing Board stall.
