The Declaration of William Evans of
Sirhowy in the County of Monmouth
Miner taken before Lewis Edwards
Esquire Justice of the Peace for the Borough
of Newport this 4th day of November 1839
I came from home last night
about 10 o'clock - A party of men called
for me. I cannot say how many as I was
drunk I was in my lodgings not in bed
I was half drunk when I went into my
lodgings - I lodged at W illiam David's
a Miner - he William David
used to work with William Williams
the Master of the Miners at Ha[r]ford's
Works but has been ill three months
. John Parry ^ Miner was one of the company
who came for me he works in Tredegar
he used to work with William Harbery
a Master of Miners-
