2002 WCIA annual report
One of a full series of Annual Reports documenting the development and evolution of the Welsh Centre for International Affairs between it's launch in 1973, and 50th Anniversary in October 2023.
WCIA was founded in 1973 to be 'Wales' Voice in the world' - championing the cause of Internationalism fostered by the founders of Wales' Temple of Peace from 1938, and passing the flame via the League of Nations Union of 1920s and United Nations Association of 1940s to WCIA, who continue this work today. Approaching our 50th Anniversary in October 2023, WCIA continue to lead Welsh civil society projects on Global Learning, Global Action, Global Partnerships and Peace Heritage, as well as acting as the guardians and venue hire/managers for Wales' iconic Temple of Peace & Health.
The 2002 Report offers an overiew of WCIA's core activities; it's constituent bodes, UNA Exchange (international volunteering), UNA Wales (campaigning & Human Rights), CEWC (Education in World Citizenship), plus work on recent publications, National Garden of Peace and the Book of Remembrance, and organisations using the Temple's Venue Hire facilities as an important and thriving heart for internationalist communities Wales-wide.
See series outline for explanation of Annual report contents and navigation through the collection.
