Description

By the end of the nineteenth century, Llandeilo had its fair share of performance venues, such as the chapels, the Civic Hall (or Drill Hall / Victoria Hall), Market Hall, and St Teilo's Church. These hosted countless concerts, fundraisers, and eisteddfodau, which drew audiences from far and wide. This is a programme of a Grand Concert by the Morriston Male Voice Choir held at Capel Newydd, Llandilo / Llandeilo, on 1 March 1938 at 7:30pm, under the auspices of the ‘Mutual Improvement Society’. The evening’s Conductor was Mr Ivor Sims; the President was Phillip Morgan Esq, Iscoed Clydach; and the Accompanists were Mr R. J. Evans, Aberayron / Aberaeron, and Mr Gwyn Harries Brynamman / Brynamman.
