Description

By the end of the nineteenth century, Llandeilo had its fair share of performance venues, such as the chapels, the Civic Hall (or Drill Hall / Victoria Hall), Market Hall, and St Teilo's Church. These hosted countless concerts, fundraisers, and eisteddfodau, which drew audiences from far and wide. This is a programme of a performance of the Opera Pirates of Penzance by the Llandilo/Llandeilo Amateut Operatic Society at the Market Hall Llandilo/Llandeilo on 1 2 3 May 1934.The President was The Right Hon. Lord Dynevor; the Musical Director was P. R. Daniel Esq.; and the Producer was Dr. J. H. Lloyd. A cast, chorus list and synopsis of the plot is included in the programme.
