Description

This is a copy of a photograph of an African hound that soldiers from the Gloucestershire regiment used to track and search for Mau Mau Insurgents in Kenya during the troubles of 1955/6. The photograph is in the possession of former Gloucestershire regiment soldier Leslie Smart, whom worked with this particular hound in Kenya. The soldiers became fond of this dog, which wads adept at tracking scent left by the Mau Mau Insurgents.
