Description

In this letter, Owen writes that he is no longer 'on the sand'. He stayed on a farm for a night, then went on another long march. He complains that his feet are very sore and that he is now sleeping in a barn. He passed a lot of German prisoners yesterday, many of whom were working, planting cabbages 'or something'. He reassures his mother that he has enough clothing - good socks and new underpants
'it is a job to keep ourselves without chats [lice] but I [crossed out] don't feel quite so miserable, as when I had them when at Halsham last year'
He sends his love to Lizzie and little Mair and says that he would like to see her now.
