Description
Captain Roger Owen was born at Tyddyn Graig on 10 April 1874 and left home when he was 13 yrs. His mother was against him joining the Navy as she had previously lost two brothers at sea. On 21 July 1905 he married Elizabeth Jane (Lilly). He was awarded a bravery medal for saving his ship against German submarine attack in the Great War. After the war he sailed on the Don Hugo liner, Don Miguel liner and Don Gonzales liner. He was a brother to Hugh and Owen Rosser Owen and he died in 1946.
