Description

Ruhleben was a civilian detention camp located outside Berlin during the First World War. Former professional sportsmen were among the detainees and sport played an important role in the life of the camp. This photograph shows the team and committee of the Barrack No. 9 cricket team and committee who won the 1917 Divison Two 'knock-out competition'.
