Description

Picture on glass ("Magic Lantern Slide") showing part of the village of Rhyd Ddu looking along the lane towards Caernarfon - the "Mynydd Mawr" in the background. "Ty Mawr" is the large building in the middle of the picture on the left side of the road - with the old farmhouse/cow house? next to him. Morgan Terrace or Edward Terrace are probably the row houses on the right side of the road with the women outside watching the photographer at work. - In the middle of the road in the distance - behind the old-fashioned "pram", there are two women talking - one holding a child in her arms. Date? - around the beginning of the twentieth century or slightly earlier? - looking at the condition of the road, and before the arrival of the telegraph poles, and according to the style of the clothes.
