Description

Each of the ranges and rocket firing test tracks were equipped with blast-proof observation post and a British Federation Concrete (BCF). The specification for the brick-built observation post with concrete roof to be built at Ynyslas is noted in memo from the Walton-on-the-Naze establishment and was to be suffcient to allow for up to 20 people to overlook the rocket's flight. It is believed that the BCF hus provided a covered working space for personnel to prepare observation instrumentation and collate initial results.
We would love to hear from former serving personnel or their descendants to learn more about the everyday tasks undertaken. Please contact Reader's Services at the RCAHMW, or add your own content to this collection.
