Description
One of the few historic documents to have survived for Ynyslas range are the establishment's transfer orders to Aberporth. The move was to be completed by 17 March 1946.
This simple form provides not clue to the monumentous technological advances that the range witnessed. Advances that would eventually allow humankind to fulfil a long held dream.
'This is the first of a new era in transportation, that of space travel. So long as the war lasts, our most urgent task can only be the rapid perfection of the rocket as a weapon. The development of possibilities we cannot yet envisage will be a peacetime task.'
- Dr. Walter Robert Dornberger to those working at Peenemunde after the first successful flight of the V2 (A-4) rocket to the edge of space, 3 October 1942.
