Description

Aerial View of Abergele's Gwrych Castle,now derelict and in ruins after its occupation by 'New Age Traveller' squatters who destroyed much of its interior prior to burning the building. Erected between 1819 and 1825 by Lloyd Hesketh Bamford-Hesketh, grandfather of the Countess of Dundonald. Last open to the public in 1985, it was used as the backdrop to the film 'Prince Valiant', starring Edward Fox and Joanna Lumley. Taken 2005/06.
