Description

Grave in memory of Rees Davies in area A at St John's church, Ysbyty Cynfyn (A88). See plan for area A for the grave's location in the graveyard.

Inscription A88: ER SERCHUS GOF AM/ REES DAVIES/ BODCOLL, DEVIL'S BRIDGE/ BU FARW MEHEFIN 5 1901,/ YN 34 MLWYDD OED./ NAC YMFFROSTIA O'R DYDD Y FORI,/ CANYS NI WYDDOST BETH A DDYGWYDD/ MEWN DIWRNOD./ "GOSTYNGODD EFE FY NERTH AR Y/ FFORDD, BYRHAODD FY NYDDIAU".

Description: headstone has a fleur de lis at the top etched in along with ivy leaves either side. Geometric design sepereates this upper decorated section with the inscription below. The flatslab is carved to look like to top of a coffin with RD inscribed on it within a lozenge and a patter around the edge.

This grave was photographed as part of a Graveyard Survey carried out with the help of volunteers in 2013.
