Description

It's had different names over the years - but Blaina Brass Band has an important claim to fame. The band was formed in 1817 as a reed and brass band, by the 1830s it was a brass only band -- making it the oldest brass band in the UK. For generations Blaina people have been getting together to make music - practising, performing and competing as band. The band continues today and is recruiting young people to its ranks -- so the music will continue in Blaina for future generations.
