Description
First Ystwyth Cycle Club Road Race 1953 called 'The Coronation Cup'. The route went from the harbour in Aberystwyth to Ponterwyd, Pontrhydygroes, Llanilar and back to the harbour. Some of the riders in the photo; E. Wintle, Boss Evans, I. Edwards, R. Hodgson, D. Wigley, P. Jones, Bill Rushton, C. Leather?, M. Woolridge (Fred Ralphs also rode). The race was won by Bill Rushton from Ystwyth Cycle Club.
