Description

Marilyn Priday is a member of the Church at Community House where she leads some of the Sunday services each month. After retiring from her post at Croesyceiliog School where she was Head of IT (2006), she became an Interfaith worker. About the same time, she set up the group 'Coffee & Laughs' which is still running at Community House and has over 30 members. This group is also led by Susan Lewis. In this recording, Marilyn talks about how she became involved in activities at Community House which include the Church services, Traidcraft and her role in running the shop for 10 years; interfaith and the development of the role - what it means today. Events at Community House are discussed which celebrate diversity; Community House as a Peace Mala Community Centre; the origins of Peace Mala. Marilyn is currently taking a theology course and is proud to be part of Maindee's diverse community.
