Letter written to his mother, Mrs Phillips. by Thomas Benbow Phillips at Rio Grande, dated 26 August 1874
Thomas Benbow Phillips thanked his mother for her letter received the previous Monday, informing him of her impending visit. He confirmed that Tommy or himself would meet her at the steamer. He sent his respects to Peter and Rachael, and said he had intened to write to Margaret, but had been too short of time to do so. Rees had been to Rio Grande recently, but didn't call very often and Thomas Benbow Phillips never knew when he departed.
