Minutes of the Grangetown Community Concern Carnival Sub-Committee Meeting held at 122 Mardy Street on 20 November 1985.

After listing those present, items include the cost of inflatables, inter-school sports, poster competition, open-air service, lottery licence and Red Dragon Radio. Responsibilities are allocated for enquiries regarding the availability of the Fun Run, Super Ted, Judo Display, British Telecom Giveaways, Pipe Band, and Sea Cadets Display. It was decided not to hold film shows or a ‘tug of war’, but instead enquire about face painting, entertainers from theatre groups, and Punch and Judy. Publicity arrangements, sale of ice cream and hoopla were discussed.

The second page mentions:
- enquiries regarding availability of a police car or fire engine, a rope slide, and boats for a duck race.
- stall charges to be increased to £7.50 for Grange Voluntary Groups (who would have priority). Groups outside Grange to be charged £10.
- next meeting at Clydach Street on 14 January 1986.

Grangetown Community Concern is a voluntary group, partly funded by Cardiff Council but almost entirely run by volunteers. It was established in 1977 and is a registered charity. The group was set up as an umbrella group for other voluntary organisations with its aims and objectives to provide and encourage services for all age groups, with a particular focus on older people.

The group organises the week-long Grangetown Festival in June. It also organised lunches and trips for older people, and produced a quarterly local newspaper. The organisation has awarded community cups to children from local primary schools who have shown community spirit and has also been responsible for arranging an annual carol service.

The group was renamed Grangetown Community Action in 2014.
