Abergavenny Museum is located on Castle Street, Abergavenny. It opend it’s doors on 2 July 1959, following a campaign by Alfred and Ernest Jackson, Duggan Thacker and a group of enthusiastic volunteers. Amongst the museum’s collections are photographs of Abergavenny and the surrounding district, social history collections with particular emphases on rural life, agriculture and its associated industries and domestic and working life. The museum also houses extensive and significant collections of archaeological material ranging from the Mesolithic to post-Medieval.
